Present time Past time

Present time Past time

Statement

Capturing how life flows through us, this piece speaks of the transformation of traumatic and painful experiences into integral parts of our being. There is beauty in the complexity of our existence. The piece is complemented by “Burnt Norton Interlude” which is a song by Lana Del Rey that references TS Eliot’s poem “Burnt Norton,” the first of the “Four Quartets.” In the song, Del Rey recites excerpts from the poem, which speak about time, memory, and existence. Eliot explores themes such as the perception of time, nostalgia, and the search for meaning in a changing and fleeting world. The model wears an Alexander McQueen AW06 and fly wings.

Burnt Norton (Interlude) Lana del Rey

Time present and time past Are both, perhaps, present in time future And time future contained in time past If all time is eternally present All time is unredeemable What might have been is an abstraction Remaining a perpetual possibility Only in a world of speculation What might have been and what has been Point to one end, which is always present Footfalls echo in the memory Down the passage which we did not take Towards the door we never opened Into the rose-garden
